Chapter 13 The Friedan Family Is Rich
It was smoky, and no one could see the way
Everyone was running out.
If Edmond wasn’t afraid of fire, he would be able to run out. However, he was. There was a fire, so it was hard for him to escape.
Edmond would die!
Everyone was running out. No one realized that there was a guy in there who might not be able to escape.
Claudia had been married to Edmond for three years. He didn’t love her, but she lived a comfortable life with him. He had given her a lot of help at work.
She hated him, but she didn’t want him to die.
Eleanor’s matter wasn’t over. If he died, he would never know mhai kind of a person Rosalie was.
No! Claudia wanted him to be alive. He couldn’t die like this.
Claudia wanted him to see that Rosalie was a villain

Edmond smelt the smoke, which he was familiar with. He stood at the door, and he didn’t move. Then, he saw a tall person running in
That person held Edmond’s head in anxiety
“Edmond!”
That person was dragging him out.
Edmond closed his eyes and said a name with a h oa rse voice,
Seeing Edmond like this, Claudia frowned deeply.
Edmond was fine, but he couldn’t move. Sure enough, fire was his weakness.
Claudia knew that Edmond had never entered the kitchen before. Edmond would stay away from anything that might have something to do with fire.
Claudia was curious, but she didn’t ask him. She didn’t want to hurt hìm.
Edmond closed his eyes, but he was trembling all over.
Tears were all over Claudia’s face because of the smoke.
Claudia gritted her teeth and dragged him out.
Claudia used all her strength to drag him from the room to the stairs step by step.
“Edmond, hang in there!” she coughed.
She leaned to Edmond’s ears and shouted, “If you die, all your money

will be mine.”
Edmond moved his eyelids slightly.
Claudia saw that her method was working, so she kept it going. “Then I will take your money to live a comfortable life and keep a young
man.”
She said quickly and covered her mouth with a towel.

Edmond finally opened his eyes and coughed, saying, “How dare you!”
Claudia bit her red lips. It seemed that he cared about her.
So, it wasn’t a serious matter that he couldn’t move in a fire. Once she angered him, he could move.
She patted his legs. “Can you stand up?”
Edmond felt his legs were warm. He frowned and tried to move his legs, but he failed.
He pushed her away and said in a low voice, “Go! Don’t worry about me.’
Claudia looked toward the door. The ground floor was smoky. She couldn’t even see the door, so it was impossible for them to escape.
The furniture was blocking the way out.
“We can’t get out.” Claudia smiled in despair. “Edmond, am I going to die with you?
“I shouldn’t have helped you.”
Hearing her mocking voice, Edmond opened his eyes.
His eyes turned red. He still looked cold, but there were tears in his
eyes.
Her words were sarcastic, but she wasn’t scared at all.
Claudia was beautiful. It was just that she kept a low profile, so few people realized that she was so beautiful.
Edmond had never seen through her. He thought that she was timid, so he didn’t expect her to come to save him.

He remembered that she was outside and didn’t have to come back.
Since that thing, he had been scared of fire. He didn’t feel hot in the fire. Instead, he felt cold. Doctors said that it was a psychological problem. Maybe one day, Edmond would be fine. Maybe he would never be fine.
Claudia’s showing up gave him hope and warmth.
Sirens were blaring, and firefighters were coming.
Edmond didn’t know where he got the strength again. He stood up again with her help.
He couldn’t let her die there.
Edmond tried to overcome the fear in his heart and walked toward the door with difficulty
When Claudia heaved a sigh of relief, she heard a big noise coming from the ceiling. A crystal chandelier was falling.
In the fire, the crystal chandelier was hot. If it hit her, it would hurt a lot.
Edmond hurriedly held her in his arms. He called out in pain and didn’t let her get hurt.
It felt warm and safe in Edmond’s arms.
“Edmond!”
It was quiet.
Suddenly, Claudia felt that Edmond was falling.
“Edmond, hang in there!” Claudia helped him up and saw that his eyes

were closed. It seemed that he had passed out.
She dragged him toward the door. Her face was covered with sweat. It was smoky, so she couldn’t see the way out. But she only had one goal, which was to take Edmond out.
Not long after, the dark room was finally lit up.
Someone came in.
“There are people here! They are still alive!”
“Help!”

Claudia smiled.
They were safe.
