Chapter 35

Melvin was totally drunk last night.

Jocelyn had no interest in reasoning with a drunk. She just let him cling to her, knowing that once his buzz wore off, he’d simmer down naturally.

Deep down, she could sense that Melvin was a bit obsessive.

She wasn’t sure if his love was true, but like he said, he wouldn’t let her go without his consent.

Sometimes she even wondered if he’d crash her wedding if she married someone else.

Melvin definitely had a possessive streak. Sometimes he acted like he didn’t care about her, and other times he came

on super strong.

But he never said he loved her.

It took a while, but eventually, Jocelyn felt Melvin’s emotions stabilize. Yet, his grip didn’t loosen; he was still holding her tight

“Wanna sip some water?” Jocelyn asked softly, patting his back.

At her words, his grip tightened like a startled bird, scared she might fly away.

Jocelyn stayed quiet, silently waiting for him to let go.

It wasn’t until his phone buzzed that he finally moved.

He didn’t answer though.

The phone went silent, then buzzed again.

Jocelyn had a hunch about who might be calling at this hour. Since he came with Willow, it wasn’t a stretch to guess that maybe he and Willow were an item.

When the phone rang a third time, Melvin finally pulled out his phone, and answered the call.

“Melvin, where are you?” Willow’s anxious voice came through.

Jocelyn turned her head away, she was able to hear Willow’s voice because it was so quiet.

“What’s up?” Melvin asked.

Jocelyn tried to leave, but Melvin grabbed her hand, pushed her against the wall, coming up to her and kissing her on the lips.
