Chapter 4
Nelly’s POV
“Leave me!” Aisha’s voice echoed. I turned around and saw her rushed into the office, with the pack guards behind her. It felt like she was being chased by a group of wild animals.
They attempted to reach for her, but Alpha Kex signaled the guards to hold back. Even from where I stood, I could hear her heavy and difficult pants for air.
Aisha suddenly fell to her knees right before Alpha Kex, her breathing coming in ragged gasps. I unconsciously let out a gasp.
“A-Aisha…” I stammered, taken aback. I didn’t know what to say or even think. My mind. completely stayed blank as it tried to understand the scene unfolding before me.
“What stup idity are you displaying, Aisha? How dare you enter an Alpha’s office like that?!” Astel’s voice roared furiously but to my surprise, she wasn’t affected.
Aisha didn’t reply for a while as she seemed to continue staring at Alpha Kex as if thinking of what to say.
“Please Alpha,” she began, her voice trembling, and her eyes blurry as she spoke, trying so hard not to look Alpha Kex in the eye.
“I beg of you, don’t take Nelly with you!” She whispered but it was loud enough for everyone in the office to hear.
Saying I was shocked would be an understatement, I was overwhelmed by her bra would have never dreamt of her helping me in a case like this especially knowing that she is mated to Astel’s Beta.
Not every friend would dare to stand up for a friend by confronting an Alpha like Alpha
Kex.
I could immediately feel the air in the office grow tense. It was then I wished I could tell her to stop, but even I was too scared to move from my spot, especially when I could feel Alpha Kex eyes on me, and that feeling confused me.
Astel was glaring murderously at Aisha from where he stood, and from the corner of my eye, I could see a formed fist resting by his side. From past experience, I knew that he was angry, and that w s’se
rious evidence that he could pounce on Aisha any time soon, and I panicked at the thoughts of the result.

Chapter 4
“Please don’t, Alpha.” Aisha continued, not looking bothered by Astel’s outburst, tears now visible in her eyes. It felt almost as though Astel was completely invisible to her.
But, Alpha Kex remained silent
With his face emotionless and cold as I continued to feel his eyes staring directly at his eyes staring directly at my face. In my attempt to prevent eye contact between us, out of fear, my eyes mistakenly met his, and I could have sworn it was as though his eyes were asking to hear my opinion on this situation, but almost like the speed of light, his ocean blue eyes returned to their cold and emotionless pit.

The room remained silent, and I silently prayed someone would break the chain of silence and just then, Carl- Aisha’s mate, stormed into the room panting even louder than when Aisha had barged into the room. It was evident that he had run his way to this room to stop his mate’s new found craziness.
“Greetings Alphas!” He quickly bowed before immediately turning to Aisha. I had expected him to pay more respect to the Alphas, but he just decided they weren’t his priority at the time.
“Stop this nonsense!” he growled, his voice low but loud at the same time as he grabbed her right arm which was closer to him.
“Leave me alone, Carl,” Aisha resisted as she aggressively shook him off.
“Listen to me, Aisha. Stay away from Nelly, she’s bad luck. She isn’t worth stressing yourself out on. She will bring you nothing good.” Carl whispered as if trying to beg her to heed him.
‘Carl, you have no right to tell me what is good or bad for me. And for your information, she’s not bad luck. What is bad luck is this pack which is ruled by a selfish Alpha who only thinks with his go ddam pr ick.” Aisha retorted almost immediately and I tried so hard to not burst into laughter.
Carl stood there dumbfounded; he was completely stunned by Aisha’s outburst, and to my surprise, that earned me a resentful look from him.
“Nelly doesn’t deserve your loyalty; I’m telling you because you’re my mate and I want. what is best for you, stay away from her.” He replied after tearing his resentful eyes away from me.
He then proceeded to hold Aisha’s right arm again, but she shoved his hand away again. “I won’t leave her; I already told you that she’s my best friend!”
“Stop! Both of you!” Astel’s voice suddenly boomed in the room, stopping both of them.

Chapter 4
“We are sorry, Alpha,” Carl bowed apologizing for both him and Aisha but she just rolled her eyes where she stood.
“Aisha, I want you to know that Nelly has already agreed to leave. She is no longer welcome in our pack,” he spat out.
“W-what!” Aisha exclaimed loudly.
She glanced at me for confirmation, but I helplessly looked away with my head. lowered. I knew I had disappointed and disgraced her, but I had no choice.
From her expression, one could see that the little piece of news had hit her extremely hard I had agreed to leave the pack. She couldn’t believe it and her expression showed
it well.
The office suddenly became eerily silent and chilly.
All of a sudden, Aisha faced Alpha Kex, and I saw a new kind of burning determination in her eyes and that made me very curious.
What could she be thinking?
“Alpha. I request that I be allowed to accompany Nelly when she leaves the pack,” she said all of a sudden with her voice steady, her shoulders straight, and her head held up high. I froze on the spot I was standing hearing what she said.
What!
Has she lost her MARBLES?!! She can’t be serious requesting that.
I heard a loud gasp escape Carl’s mouth as he suddenly seemed to lose his balance, and fall straight to the ground. Even Astel looked like his eyes would bulge out their sockets, but to my surprise, Alpha Kex eyes weren’t on me anymore, they were completely staring at Aisha in an unreadable way which I couldn’t decipher.
“You may accompany her if that is your wish.” Alpha Kex’s majestic voice finally filled. the room, and I felt my heart ski p a beat at the sound.
“Thank you, Alpha,” Aisha smiled brightly for the first time, and then she bowed.
I frantically felt my own legs rush to her side, and pulled her into my arms, whispering,
You can’t come with me, Aisha,” I pleaded, praying she would listen and change her mind, but she shook her head.
“Tell me, Nelly,” she faced me with a smile on her face.

Chapter 4
“How would you cope in Black Moon pack without your one and only best friend? 1 can’t stand by and watch you leave alone, I would be stricken with worry, if I’m not there with you,” she murmured.
I was speechless. Aisha has been my only friend and best friend since middle school and she has always stood by my side.
Her love for me has been unwavering, and I thank the Moon goddess for blessing me with someone as good as her. Someone who is willing to stand by me and give me unwavering support at a time like this.
Carl, who was still dazed, snapped out of his dazed state, and continued with his pleading.
“You can’t go,” he said, his voice was almost shaking. “We’re mates. You can’t leave me!”
