Early the next morning, Malcolm went downstairs to find Tabitha sitting at the dining table with an empty plate and half a glass of milk.

She was reading a book, her long eyelashes hanging down, casting a shadow under her eyelids.

Malcolm frowned slightly, inexplicably disliking the feeling he was having
