With a concerned expression, Martha produced a test strip, and I excused myself to the bathroom to use it. As I waited for the result, my heart was pounding in my chest. When I saw the test, I let out a small gasp, unable to believe my eyes.

Martha’s expression turned grave as she looked at me. “This is bad. You’re not the Luna anymore, and they might not let you keep this child. Even worse, they could take it from you. I was taken aback by her words. Martha had always been loyal and caring, but this was a level of kindness and understanding I hadn’t expected.
