“Didn’t you know? Damien’s mother arranged for him to go on a blind date with a woman. They met yesterday and got along really well!” Beth’s tone was rather gloating. She no longer had a chance with Damien. After Karen found out the truth in the hospital that day, she couldn’t care less about Beth.
Beth was indignant, so she continued finding out information about the Radbury family. Ava sneered. She hadn’t even signed the divorce agreement, and the members of the Radbury family were already in a rush to send another woman into Damien’s embrace. They couldn’t even wait another day. It seemed that the text message she saw yesterday was from that woman. “Ava, that woman is the eldest daughter of the Newton family, Selina Newton. Not even I can compare to her when it comes to looks and family background. An illegitimate daughter like you is nothing compared to her,” Beth said with a smile. “Selina Newton,” Ava thought. “Miss Newton is a lady from a respectable family. If you have a tiny bit of common sense left, you should quickly divorce Damien voluntarily so that you wouldn’t embarrass yourself and our family!” Beth’s words were extremely sarcastic, and her laughter was like a slap on Ava’s face. Ava said nothing and bit her lower lip.
Selina Newton. This name sounded a little familiar. Ava thought about it for a long time and finally remembered that she had met Selina once during Radbury Group’s anniversary banquet. Selina was a breathtakingly beautiful woman, and she was the center of attention wherever she went.
Ava heard that Selina’s father was a leading entrepreneur in the internet industry, while her mother was a well-known fluid mechanics expert in the country who had won numerous awards. Her family background was enough to rival that of Damien’s. To Karen, Selina was probably the perfect future daughter-in-law. “Dad, if there’s nothing else, I will take my leave first.” Ava hurriedly left the Nagel family’s residence. As she walked out of the door, Beth’s mocking voice rang out. “Heh, does she really think that she stands a chance against Selina Newton?”
At Radbury family’s manor. Damien had come to see his father. However, his father wasn’t around. Instead, Selina was sitting alone in the living room. “Uncle and auntie went out because they had something urgent to attend to. They asked me to wait here for the time being,” Selina said.
They had officially met yesterday. At first, Damien thought that his father had arranged for him to discuss business deals with members of the Newton family. When he saw that the other party was a young woman, he immediately understood what was going on. As Radbury Group and the Newton family cooperated a lot, he didn’t embarrass Selina by walking away from the blind date. He didn’t expect to see Selina again today. “Since they are not here, I will come back again tonight. Damien nodded politely and was about to leave. “Hey, wait a moment.” Selina rose and stood in his way. “What’s the matter, Miss Newton?”

Damien thought for a while and decided that it wasn’t a bad idea. At least, he would be able to pacify his mother. He nodded in agreement. “Mr. Radburry, since you’ve agreed, why don’t we continue putting on an.act? Let’s go outside, take a walk, and pretend to chit-chat. What do you think?” Selina suggested. Damien glanced at his watch and didn’t object.
That night, Damien did not go home.
Even though Ava was used to Damien not coming home, tonight, the loneliness was especially hard to endure.
Ava sat by the window and tried to read a book. Even after around an hour, she couldn’t even finish reading one page. She chuckled self-deprecatingly. Wasn’t it good that he wasn’t home?
If he were to come home, he would be back with a divorce agreement for her to sign.
The doorbell rang. Ava sat up almost immediately and rushed over to the door. She opened the door before the servants could.
However, the person outside the door wasn’t Damien.
There was a surge of despondence in her heart.
“Excuse me, may I know if Damien Radbury stays here?” A breathtakingly beautiful woman stood outside the door, and she was wearing an intricate dress. Her handbag was limited edition, and she was obviously from a wealthy family. “Excuse me, who are…” Ava was stunned.
“I am Selina Newton.”
Ava’s heart sank.
She was just thinking about how familiar this woman looked, and her gut instinct was right. Was it a trend for third parties in a marriage to come straight to the men’s homes nowadays?
